I enjoy my peas spiced and sautéed instead of just boiled and salted. The extra flavour adds another dimension of flavour to the meal. I can tell you one thing, my Dad isn’t easily pleased, but even he loves this dish.
It’s nothing too difficult or fancy but definitely worth a shot.
Spicy Sautéed Peas
2 cups frozen, thawed peas
1/2 onion – chopped
1/2 tomato – chopped
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- In a pan with heated oil, add in the cumin seeds. Then add in the onions.
Allow to cook for a min or so and then add in the tomato.
- Add a little water if necessary and cover the pot.
- Once the tomato and onions resemble a paste, add in the peas and salt to taste.
- Cook through and the peas are ready to be served.
Don’t forget to Instagram me your dish or your version if you decide to tweak it.
