I went from being an attorney to studying psychology to creating a niche in the art of stylish homemaking. In addition to that, I have also been a wife, mother and homemaker for the past 32 years. This has been the most fulfilling vocation of my life.
I have lived in various countries throughout the years, but I always find my way back home to Malaysia. Each country brought new experiences that helped shape me as a homemaker. Canada was where I first learnt the term ‘homemaking’. Before that, it was just housework!
My Indian roots, Asian upbringing, Toronto life, and UK years didn’t give me just exposure but also allowed me to take the best aspects to create a unique homemaking system.
I watched and learned how to care for a home from my Mum and Granny. I realised that each generation evolved the concept of homemaking to something relevant and functional for their times. Yet, the principles remained the same: Keep everyone fed and your home and family clean!
From the years I spent pursuing academic qualifications to become a Certified Home Management Consultant, I understood more and more that while every home was different, homemaking was not! With enough research, it became clear that every home usually needs a primary homemaker. This person requires a particular set of skills to step up and manage the intricacies of running a household.
That became the basis for my system. On this site, I break down homemaking into easy to understand concepts and reasons, with lots of inspiration and motivation! I also share my personal life experiences so that we can laugh at our mistakes together.
Cleanage and Stylish Homemaking are the two main concepts that I personally created. These are, in my opinion – thank you to those who agree with me, the most comprehensive resources for goal setting, decluttering, and home organisation.
The entire reason for ‘Raveena at Home’ and ‘Stylish Homemaking’ is to share my knowledge and experience with as many people as possible. It is all done for you to enjoy the process and achieve your household goals.
