I’m not saying all homemakers are overweight. What I am saying is that it’s harder for homemakers to lose weight for these reasons.

- Food and snacks
Surrounded by food almost all day. Temptation isn’t easy to resist! - Leftovers.
Rather than put something away and storing leftovers, you just eat it at the next meal or in between. It’s not your job to eat everything you don’t want to (eventually) throw out. - It’s not exercise.
Housework maybe tiring but it is not cardio. It doesn’t amount to exercising. It does stretch your body and movement is good for your blood circulation. - Not prioritising Self Care.
Cook for yourself, take time out for a walk. Research and follow a better self care regime. - Lack of sleep.
Insufficient sleep is associated with higher levels of the hormone ghrelin, which increases appetite, and lower levels of the hormone leptin, which leads to feeling less full. This sets people up to gain weight.
Losing weight is so difficult and maintaining it is even harder.
One thing you might want to look into if you are struggling with weight loss is your medication. Certain medicines cause weight gain. Therefore, when you start a new medication, look out for a change in appetite and any cravings that might develop.
Many people have asked me about my weight loss, and I want to say these are the first 5 things I addressed for a lifestyle change.

What’s your current weight?
Not telling but it’s 23kg down.
How long did it take?
Lost it within 2 years but it is hard to maintain. I’ve gained 2kg in the past 15 months.
Did you follow any diet?
No intermittent fasting for me. I get gastro issues so I stuck to smaller portions and some keto.
Do you go to the gym?
Nope! Never on my own but initially I did get me a personal trainer.
Did you lose muscle?
Definitely. Working on that.
