Throughout the day, when things go wrong, someone is rude, things don’t happen the way you planned, there are feelings. Anger, frustration, self pity, sadness and such. It can be a long list.

The problem with keeping those feelings pent up is you will eventually EXPLODE.
Lots of things will be said, many of those badly worded, accusatory and in a loud voice.
Here are a few things you can do to handle those feelings.
- Go to bed early.
Sleeping makes things better. Having slept, you will feel a lot better. - Deep breaths.
Instead of penting it up, release the anxieties through deep breathing. The problem won’t disappear but your reaction will be more controlled. - Stretch
Stretch your muscles, do some yoga. It’ll calm you down and relieve some stress. - Hug someone. A loved one or a pet. Hugging boosts a hormone called oxytocin (happy hormone) and also affect our endogenous opioid system (pain reduction).
- Take a warm shower. Warm showers make you feel warm. This naturally relaxes your muscles and thoughts.
- Dance. Moving your body allows you shed some of the weariness and it releases another happy hormone called dopamine.
- Talk to someone who can help. Sharing is halving your burden.
- Shut your eyes and think calming and loving thoughts.
Taking these steps through the day, will keep that cup of tolerance more empty than full.
And that’s a good thing because you DO NOT want to implode causing damage to yourself or explode and cause damage to relationships and others.
How often do you feel you are going to scream and what do you do instead?
