Oops! I threw it out
I saw this message from a fellow homemaker and I find that, this is a fear many declutterers feel – of throwing out something you might
How do you stop yourself from being too savage with the “get rid of it” pile? I find that I am super quick to decide if something needs to go. Has anyone had the issue of getting rid of something to later regret it?
I think it is fair to say that we have all been there! We have all regretted “bad throws”, which is what I call the action of throwing away something you later wish you had hung on to. It has happened in the past, and it will continue to happen.
Now, let’s look at the bigger picture. Think of all the other items you have decluttered which were good decisions.
Decisions that have made your routines simpler, your home cleaner. Your housework takes less time, giving you more time for your family and yourself. Those are the decisions you need to focus on. Not the single item that you threw out!
Don’t allow that one bad decision cloud your entire perspective of decluttering. The end result is what you have achieved and that is worth much more.
For that piece you regret throwing out, if you really want it or need it, go reward yourself for all your wonderful work by buying a new and better one!!
So, my loves! Keep motivated, be productive and don’t fret the little mistakes.
